Masseria Giulfo
A place to call home
Masseria Giulfo is the heart of Olivaria, the place where it all began. A place to call home. The first olive trees were given to Baron Sillitti as a gift from Tuscany, and the cultivars were Leccino and Frantoio. Over the decades plants of Biancolilla and Nocellara del Belice were planted and gave birth to a blended extra virgin olive oil which perfectly balances aromas and flavours. The peculiar soil, called “trubbu” in Sicilian, is a calcareous and saline one. The oil yield is 18-20% for Biancolilla e Nocellara and 14-16% for Leccino and Frantoio. However, despite the low yield, the quality is excellent.

In detail
Near the groves you can appreciate a nice villa where the antiques of the family are saved, a lovely baglio, which is a peculiar Sicilian rural building of the late XIX century that surrounds the courtyard and a vast vineyard that stretches out for many metres.
